SAS will operate a new nonstop between Copenhagen and Seoul starting September 12, 2025.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) confirmed it will launch a Copenhagen–Seoul nonstop on September 12, 2025, using Airbus A350-900 widebodies. The service marks SAS’s first direct link between Denmark and South Korea and follows the carrier’s move into the SkyTeam alliance.
The route is designed to connect Scandinavia with East Asia while feeding SAS’s wider European network, giving travelers a one-stop option across two continents without a transfer in between. SAS plans a higher summer frequency and a reduced winter schedule to match seasonal demand.
SAS will start with four weekly flights, trimming the timetable to three weekly during the winter period. The airline will operate the route with its Airbus A350-900 fleet, aircraft known for long-range efficiency and improved passenger comfort on long-haul sectors.
The new connection is part of a broader trend of European carriers restoring and expanding intercontinental services after pandemic-era retrenchment. For SAS, the service not only opens a direct Scandinavian gateway to South Korea but also aims to capture connecting traffic from across Europe on onward itineraries.
Passengers can expect standard SAS long-haul products on the A350-900, and the carrier says schedules will be timed to integrate with its European feed. Specific flight numbers, departure times and booking details were not published in the initial announcement; those will appear on SAS’s official channels as the launch date approaches.
