Wizz Air Abu Dhabi routes are restarting from Larnaca, Cyprus, and Sofia, Bulgaria, in mid-November.
Wizz Air Hungary will resume service to Abu Dhabi from Larnaca on November 15 and from Sofia on November 17, operating A321ceo and A321neo aircraft respectively. The Larnaca–Abu Dhabi link is scheduled four times weekly, while Sofia–Abu Dhabi will run three times a week.
These flights restore connectivity that had been handled by the UAE joint venture Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. That carrier’s air operator certificate (AOC) was wound down in September, prompting Wizz Air to reassign capacity back to its European operator.
The move signals a network realignment toward core European operations as Wizz Air adjusts capacity and fleet usage ahead of peak winter travel. Using A321ceo (current engine option) and A321neo (new engine option) allows the airline to match range and efficiency to each route’s demand profile.
Passengers should expect standard low-cost product features from Wizz Air Hungary, with multiple frequency options per week and single-aisle Airbus A321 equipment. Exact flight numbers and schedules will appear in the carrier’s booking system as the launch dates approach.
Operationally, shifting services back to Wizz Air Hungary preserves route continuity for travellers between Cyprus, Bulgaria and the UAE while Wizz restructures its regional footprint. Industry watchers will be looking for any further schedule tweaks or equipment swaps as demand patterns settle into winter.
