BOC Aviation will buy and lease back three Airbus A350-900s for EGYPTAIR A350-900, a deal announced November 19, 2025.
BOC Aviation has finalised a purchase-and-leaseback transaction covering three Airbus A350-900 twin‑engine widebodies for Egypt’s flag carrier, EGYPTAIR (IATA: MS, ICAO: MSR). The announcement on November 19, 2025 confirms the lessor will take ownership and then lease the aircraft back to the airline, with scheduled deliveries beginning in early 2026.
The A350-900s are intended to strengthen EGYPTAIR’s long-haul network from Cairo (CAI), giving the carrier more fuel-efficient capacity on international routes. Airbus’s A350-900 is known as a modern, twin-engine widebody that typically offers improved fuel burn and lower emissions per seat compared with older four-engine types.
For EGYPTAIR, the transaction supports a fleet modernisation push that prioritises range and economy on long sectors. For BOC Aviation, the agreement adds newer widebodies to its portfolio and continues the common industry model of purchase-and-leaseback financing — a way airlines can refresh fleets while preserving capital. Deliveries starting in early 2026 give EGYPTAIR time to slot the A350-900s into existing long-haul schedules and crew training plans.
The transaction is a clear signal that both lessors and airlines remain focused on twin‑engine, fuel‑efficient widebodies for international growth and sustainability objectives. While specific registration numbers and route assignments were not published with the announcement, the A350-900s are expected to appear on EGYPTAIR’s strategic intercontinental routes from Cairo once delivered.
