Transport Canada has cleared the Bombardier Global 8000, giving the ultra‑long‑range bizjet a new cabin comfort and speed benchmark.
The Bombardier Global 8000 received Transport Canada type certification on November 5, 2025, confirming a lowered cabin altitude of 2,691 feet at FL410 (flight level 410, approximately 41,000 ft) and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.95 — a figure that positions it as the fastest business jet in history. The approval validates Bombardier’s performance and comfort claims for the new model.
The Global 8000 builds on the line’s pedigree; its predecessor, the Global 7500, had a published cabin altitude of 2,900 feet, so the 8000’s 2,691 ft figure represents a tangible step forward in passenger well‑being at cruise. Operators and charter customers who prioritise ultra‑long‑range comfort are expected to watch orders closely now that certification is official.
At FL410 the certified cabin altitude of 2,691 ft reduces passenger exposure to the physiological effects of high cruise altitudes, while Mach 0.95 (maximum operating speed) gives the Global 8000 a performance edge on long sectors. Transport Canada’s type certificate confirms design, systems and performance data submitted by Bombardier for the model.
Beyond headline numbers, the certification clears the way for customer deliveries and type‑rated operations under Canadian regulation. While Bombardier and operators will publish delivery schedules and customer specifics separately, the Transport Canada milestone is a critical regulatory step that transforms performance claims into operativo reality.
