Eve and Bahrain Partner on eVTOL Bahrain Launch

Eve Air Mobility and Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation signed a framework on November 4, 2025 to accelerate eVTOL Bahrain services.

The deal sets a clear timeline: commercial electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations are targeted for 2028, with international route expansion planned for 2029. The agreement focuses on regulatory work, operational planning and building the necessary ground infrastructure to make short electric flights practical and safe.

Eve Air Mobility will provide technology and operations expertise while Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications leads local regulation, permitting and planning. The framework covers vertiport construction, airspace integration, and workforce training so pilots, technicians and ground staff are ready as the aircraft move from testing to revenue service.

eVTOL Bahrain rollout timeline

Announced on November 4, 2025, the partnership positions Bahrain as a regional hub for next‑generation, low‑emissions urban and short‑haul air mobility. Officials say the phased approach — local commercial operations in 2028 followed by international links in 2029 — gives regulators and operators time to validate safety, charging infrastructure and passenger processes.

  • Key partnership priorities: regulation, vertiports, workforce and operations for eVTOL Bahrain.
  • Commercial service target: 2028 (domestic/short‑haul).
  • International expansion: planned for 2029, pending approvals.

The initiative is notable for pairing a manufacturer/operator with a national transport authority early in the development cycle. That collaboration helps speed up airspace rules, ground infrastructure roll‑out and public acceptance — all critical for eVTOL adoption. Eve’s role is to transfer know‑how on vehicle ops, maintenance practices and pilot/technician training programs.

For travelers and city planners, the promise is shorter regional trips with lower local emissions and new intermodal connections to airports and urban transport. For Bahrain, the project is a strategic bet on becoming a Middle East hub for sustainable aviation and advanced air mobility.
