FedEx has launched a new transatlantic link between Indianapolis and Dublin to boost express freight capacity.
On October 24, 2025, the inaugural arrival at Dublin Airport (DUB) marked the start of the FedEx Indianapolis Dublin cargo route, connecting Indianapolis International Airport (IND) with Ireland’s main gateway. The service expands FedEx Express (IATA: FX, ICAO: FDX) transatlantic network and aims to support growing e-commerce and supply-chain resilience between the US Midwest and Europe.
FedEx will operate the new routing using its widebody freighter fleet, integrating the frequency into existing European schedules to offer faster gateway connections for shippers and time-sensitive freight. The move reflects steady demand for air cargo capacity as businesses diversify logistics to reduce transit risk.
The Indianapolis–Dublin link shortens transit times for manufacturers and online retailers in the US Midwest and provides direct access to European distribution hubs. Dublin Airport also serves as a strategic entry point for the Republic of Ireland and as a transshipment location for wider EU markets.
Logistics planners told carriers and shippers the Midwest-Europe corridor has tightened in capacity during peak seasons, making dedicated routings valuable. FedEx’s addition is positioned to relieve congestion, provide schedule reliability and offer more predictable transit windows for temperature-controlled and priority shipments.
Operational details such as weekly frequencies and aircraft rotations will likely be shared by FedEx and Dublin Airport as schedules stabilize. For now, the October 24, 2025 inaugural flight signals a strategic expansion of FedEx’s European footprint and highlights ongoing investments in resilient cross-Atlantic supply chains.
