Lufthansa Group posted a 7% year‑on‑year passenger increase in Q3 2025, led by surging transatlantic travel.
Lufthansa Q3 passenger growth was highlighted in the carrier’s financial update released on November 6, 2025. The German operator (IATA: LH, ICAO: DLH) said expanded North American routes and sustained demand across transatlantic sectors lifted load factors and improved yields versus the prior year.
CEO Carsten Spohr credited network optimisation and stronger premium cabin sales for the rise, while noting capacity management helped match supply to demand. The group’s brief confirmed a healthy rebound in business and leisure traffic across Europe–US flows during the quarter.
Management also outlined forward-looking investments: upgrades to digital passenger services and a stepped-up approach to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Lufthansa said SAF procurement will be ramped to support its environmental targets and future long‑haul operations.
The November 6 update didn’t publish a full breakdown by market or exact SAF volumes, but it framed the results as evidence that premium sales and route reallocation are working. For passengers, the changes mean more transatlantic frequency and incremental product investments; for investors, management pointed to margin recovery as yields firm up.
