Urban-Air Port has signed its first deal with an Indian OEM to build vertiport infrastructure for eVTOL operations in India.
Urban-Air Port, the UK-based advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure developer, has announced a partnership with an Indian eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) manufacturer to roll out integrated vertiports and ground systems in India. The collaboration is billed as Urban-Air Port’s first engagement with an Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aims to support the emerging urban air mobility ecosystem in major Indian cities.
The agreement focuses on turnkey vertiport solutions — landing pads, charge and battery swap systems, passenger flows and ground control — designed to support safe, sustainable eVTOL operations. Urban-Air Port says the infrastructure will be scalable, enabling operators to add capacity as services grow and regulatory frameworks evolve. The partners also flagged plans to adapt the same model for future deployment across parts of Europe and other Western markets.
India is seen as a key growth market for AAM because of dense urban populations and traffic congestion challenges. By working directly with an Indian eVTOL manufacturer, Urban-Air Port hopes to accelerate pilot projects, demonstrations and eventual commercial routes while aligning designs with local regulation and city planning priorities.
The move underscores growing international cooperation in sustainable aviation and urban air mobility. While specific timelines and city locations were not disclosed, the partnership signals momentum in bringing eVTOL services closer to commercial reality by combining hardware (aircraft) and infrastructure (vertiports). Expect incremental pilots, regulatory engagement and public–private coordination as next steps.
