Uzbekistan Airways has ordered eight Embraer E190-E2 jets as part of a regional fleet renewal.
On November 14, 2025, Uzbekistan Airways (IATA: HY, ICAO: UZB) confirmed a firm order for eight Embraer E190-E2 regional jets, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2026. The deal signals a deliberate move to modernize the carrier’s short- and medium-haul fleet and improve connectivity between Uzbekistan and key European destinations.
The E190-E2 is Embraer’s latest in the E2 family and is widely noted for improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions versus previous-generation regional types. Uzbekistan Airways said the new aircraft will primarily operate regional services, offering more frequency and better economics on routes across Central Asia and into Europe.
The order strengthens Embraer’s footprint in Central Asia and reflects broader demand in the Eurasian market for next-generation regional jets that balance capacity with sustainability. The contract reportedly includes options for additional aircraft, giving Uzbekistan Airways flexibility to scale its fleet as traffic recovers and route opportunities arise.
For passengers, the E190-E2 typically means quieter cabins and improved fuel burn per seat; for the airline it offers lower operating costs and reduced environmental footprint compared with older regional jets. Uzbekistan Airways’ announcement follows a trend among Eurasian carriers to refresh fleets with more efficient, next-gen regional aircraft.
