Volotea Launches Madrid–Asturias Route

Volotea Madrid–Asturias route launched in early November 2025, linking Madrid–Barajas (MAD) and Asturias (OVD) with up to four weekly flights.

Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea (IATA: V7) started the new Madrid–Asturias domestic service in early November 2025, operating out of Madrid–Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD / LEMD) to Asturias Airport (OVD / LEAS). The timetable offers four flights per week during the main season and will reduce to two weekly rotations during the winter low season.

The airline says the link targets both leisure and business travellers, with particular appeal for weekend trips and regional connections. By adding Asturias, Volotea aims to capture short-break demand and easier city-to-coast access for passengers travelling between Madrid and northern Spain.

What the Volotea Madrid–Asturias route means

The new service strengthens domestic connectivity: Volotea has served Madrid since entering the market in 2017 and now operates 12 destinations from MAD. The Madrid–Asturias route is expected to boost passenger numbers at both airports and support local tourism and business ties as seasonal demand fluctuates.
